Wetherby Rugby Union Football Club
Wetherby RUFC has become one of the most successful clubs in Yorkshire. Recently, our Men’s team achieved back to back promotions and are currently playing in North East Division Two, the highest level in our history. Our Womens section after being established over 5 years is also growing in strength and always welcomes new members whether experienced players or beginners. We run one of Yorkshire’s most successful Mini and Junior sections with over 300 children registered from Micros through to Colts. That success is largely down to the fantastic pool of volunteers who provide rugby coaching and support from age 4 upwards, as well as the highest standard of pitches and facilities at Grange Park.
Kirk Deighton Rangers Junior Football Club
Kirk Deighton Rangers JFC has around 250 members and prides itself on being an FA Charter Standard Club for boys and girls aged 3 to 18. We pride ourselves on having some of the best junior football facilities in the region at Grange Park which enable us to provide a great environment for players of all abilities to learn, develop and play football under the guidance of our team of qualified coaches. We operate within a relaxed and family-orientated environment and count ourselves privileged to enjoy the support of families and local business within the Wetherby community.
Wetherby Padel Club
Grange Park in 2023 also became host to reportedly the fastest growing sport in the world, having introduced the Wetherby Padel Club, boasting four new state of the art padel tennis courts, all wheelchair accessible, open and available for hire with remote booking via the Playtomic App. Coaching, social mix-ins, competitions and leagues are all part of the offering with affordable membership providing extra benefits such as court fee discounts, advance booking, access to leagues/ladders and special member-only events. Courts are floodlit and open from 7.00 am to 10.30 pm, 365 days a years
Wetherby Bowling Club
Wetherby Bowling Club is unique on the Yorkshire side of the Pennines with both a lawn (flat) green and a crown green side-by-side. Not sure of the difference? Lawn bowls – played in lanes or rinks as demonstrated at the Commonwealth Games; whereas crown green is played over the whole green – and is exclusive to the north of England, the north Midlands, and north Wales. Our crown green is equipped with floodlights so that evening matches can be played into the autumn – and the club hosts an annual autumn mini-league which attracts players from across the district. We offer social bowling for people who just want a relaxing game, but also participate in various local leagues within Yorkshire – you decide the level at which you want to play. Our greens are normally open from the beginning of April until the end of November.
